Sylvan Lake

So today we went to the lake with the Sandi, Scott and the kids. Let me tell you, Kianna had a blast. She loved being on Sandi and Scott's boat. And don't get me started on her tube ride. She didn't want to get out of it. Here are some pictures from our day.

P.S. to the grandparents- She was totally safe in the boat and in the tube. :-)

Kianna figuring out that she cant walk down the steep hill. So, she figured out that its easier to crawl down backwards.

Trying out the trampoline with mommy and the girls.

Have a fun tube ride with mommy and the girls.

Waving to mommy from the tube. If you can blow this up you can actually see the smile on her face. Like I said she just loved it.

Kianna's Birthday at Uncle Scott and Aunt Sandi's

So I must apologize for the tardiness of this post. We have been extremely busy these last few days. Here is but a few of the pictures from Saturday and Scott and Sandi's place.

Wasn't sure what to do.

Singing Happy Birthday to her. She loved it!

Trip to the Zoo

This past weekend we decided to spend an afternoon at the Edmonton zoo... we were a little bit dissapointed at the lack of animals to see, but Kianna did have a chance to meet some goats in the petting zoo.

Kianna also enjoyed trying to stick her fingers through the fences trying to pet the rabbits... I think they were probably her favorite out of all the animals that we did get to see. It didn't take long for her to get bored of the few animals and just want to run around...

One of the few interesting animals that we did get to see was this tired looking camel that was in desperate need of a haircut... and as you can tell by the look on Kianna's face, she wasn't super impressed by the camel either!

Keeping Mom Busy

For any of you that know Kianna, you know that she is a busy girl... and she's not slowing down. The more she walks the faster she gets and she keeps us laughing and on our toes. As you can see, the other day she emptied out the laundry basket for me... so that she could crawl inside.

Kianna discovered the water in the toilet a while ago now, but yesterday for the first time she figured out that you can put stuff in the toilet... needless to say there are now a couple of shoes and a bottle being disinfected - and as Grandma and Grandpa pointed out; at least she can't flush yet!

Abbotsford

The first weekend of May the family made one last trip out to Abbotsford before I go back to work. It was a great chance to get my side of the family together and to watch the two girls play together. A lot of the week that we were there consisted of Kianna running after Alyssa trying to touch her and Alyssa crawling away as fast as she could. They were great together and a lot of fun to watch! It was a very nice treat for Kianna to be able to go from inside to outside as often as she wanted. Coming from Edmonton it definitely felt like summer and she had a great time in just her diaper. We look forward to getting a new house with a fenced back yard so that she can have that freedom at home.

And of course what would a trip out to Abbotsford be without Auntie Kyla... taking care of both girls for us so that we get a break!

Summer is Here

A couple of weeks ago Joe, Kianna and I spent the weekend down in Red Deer and Kianna got her first chance to play at the park with her cousins. By far her favorite was the swing and just walking on the grass and picking up leaves. We also took her down her first slide, first with mom, and then both Madalyn and Rebecca took her also. And finally she jumped on the trampoline for the first time.

Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

Kianna got a new jacket for the spring... it's great for us that she likes it and doesn't fight having it put on.
Here's Kianna helping Grandpa put up the much needed baby gate... little did she know (at that point) what it would be used for.
Grandpa and Kianna spent some time outside in the nice fresh air... you may notice that Grandpa did put her jacket on... but if you look close there are no shoes or socks... good thing grandparents can get away with anything :)
We went to Wendy's for dinner on the last night that Grandma and Grandpa were here and Kianna wanted to learn what a straw was for. She got the concept but hasn't figured out how to suck the pop up yet.

Last week Grandma and Grandpa were able to come out here for a short visit and got a chance to spend lots of time with us and Kianna. Since Kianna is walking now, and getting faster by the day, we enlisted Grandpa's help while they were here to install the baby gate. Now I get a break from chasing her down the hallway every five minutes! Kianna's quickly learned what the gate is and doesn't always appreciate having it closed, but does like to giggle when it's open and she gets a chance to "lock" us into the kitchen area.

More pictures from this past weekend

We had a great Easter weekend; the three of us were able to take a short, but very nice trip down to Chicago to see Grandma and Grandpa Dechtiarenko. Unfortunately Joe could only stay for 2 days, but Kianna and I got to visit with them for a bit longer. It was really great being able to see Joe's parents play and spend time with Kianna... and she sure did love it too.

Chilling in the chair.
