Trip to the Zoo

This past weekend we decided to spend an afternoon at the Edmonton zoo... we were a little bit dissapointed at the lack of animals to see, but Kianna did have a chance to meet some goats in the petting zoo.

Kianna also enjoyed trying to stick her fingers through the fences trying to pet the rabbits... I think they were probably her favorite out of all the animals that we did get to see. It didn't take long for her to get bored of the few animals and just want to run around...

One of the few interesting animals that we did get to see was this tired looking camel that was in desperate need of a haircut... and as you can tell by the look on Kianna's face, she wasn't super impressed by the camel either!

Keeping Mom Busy

For any of you that know Kianna, you know that she is a busy girl... and she's not slowing down. The more she walks the faster she gets and she keeps us laughing and on our toes. As you can see, the other day she emptied out the laundry basket for me... so that she could crawl inside.

Kianna discovered the water in the toilet a while ago now, but yesterday for the first time she figured out that you can put stuff in the toilet... needless to say there are now a couple of shoes and a bottle being disinfected - and as Grandma and Grandpa pointed out; at least she can't flush yet!

Abbotsford

The first weekend of May the family made one last trip out to Abbotsford before I go back to work. It was a great chance to get my side of the family together and to watch the two girls play together. A lot of the week that we were there consisted of Kianna running after Alyssa trying to touch her and Alyssa crawling away as fast as she could. They were great together and a lot of fun to watch! It was a very nice treat for Kianna to be able to go from inside to outside as often as she wanted. Coming from Edmonton it definitely felt like summer and she had a great time in just her diaper. We look forward to getting a new house with a fenced back yard so that she can have that freedom at home.

And of course what would a trip out to Abbotsford be without Auntie Kyla... taking care of both girls for us so that we get a break!

Summer is Here

A couple of weeks ago Joe, Kianna and I spent the weekend down in Red Deer and Kianna got her first chance to play at the park with her cousins. By far her favorite was the swing and just walking on the grass and picking up leaves. We also took her down her first slide, first with mom, and then both Madalyn and Rebecca took her also. And finally she jumped on the trampoline for the first time.
